BEFORE YOU GET HERE
We contact customers by phone, post, email or fax and are on the lists
of various accommodation booking agencies. Our website has photos of the guest
house and links to MultiMap which shows our position and an aerial view of the
area.
ARRIVAL
Someone is always in the building to answer the door and help with
luggage. Our guests are asked to arrive before 22:30 or arrange to pick-up
their keys. The Railway Station is a 7/8
minute walk away or quicker by taxi. The Coach Station is 12/15 minutes walk
and involves a footbridge over the railway line, so probably not recommended if
you have a lot of luggage. Car parking is usually available off-road on a
first-come-first-served basis, so please let us know if you’d like us to
guarantee you a space.
GROUND FLOOR
There are two doors and two steps to get inside and we have a moveable
ramp which can be used if required. All the rooms and corridors are carpeted
and we have a comfortable guests’ lounge where guests and/or their friends can
meet. The Dining Room is also on the ground floor. Tourist Information is found
in the Hall.
ACCESS STATEMENT
2.
There are toilets on the first floor which visiting non-residents can
use.
BEDROOMS
The first floor bedrooms are accessed by a staircase with a hand rail on
each side. The corridors and stairs are lit 24 hours a day and we have an up to
date fire alarm system with sensors in all rooms.
One bedroom has a strobe light fire alarm for those with poor hearing. The
TV also has text for subtitles. The bathroom attached to the latter has grab
rails and easy use taps.
We also have waterproof stools which can be used in a shower.
The second floor bedrooms are accessed by a steep staircase with a hand
rail on one side only.
Our beds are made-up with synthetic duvets and a mixture of feather and
synthetic pillows. We are happy to change to blankets or all-synthetic bedding
if required. Bed boards can be supplied.
